The purpose of this book is to provide the signposts and practical wisdom for us to develop ourselves to be a more loving person. We learn to love by loving; there is no other way. Dr Kung is sharing the insights he gained through opening his heart to others. He came across people who were at the end of the rope, which then broke. He had the strong feeling that someone should do something about it. Eventually, he turned out to be that someone. He believes that when we have been to dark caves and survived, we have to go back to help those still stuck in the caves.
