Finding Myself in the Middle is a tale of exploration, self-discovery and acceptance. Jessica is a bright, funny, successful advertising executive on the verge of turning 40... which hadn't fazed her in the least until one of her younger friends calls her "middle-aged". This innocent comment spontaneously turns Jessica?s seemingly calm, normal life into a tailspin. Now, at this pivotal juncture, she finds herself contemplating every aspect of her life and her self. She begins to assess if the person she has become and the life she is leading is really enough. To add to the complexity of her self-discovery, Jessica was adopted as a baby. In the past, she had never felt the desire to delve into her birth rites. Now, she is eager to find out about her biological parents as a way to hopefully bring light to what makes her who she is. Jessica soon finds out some very intriguing information which leads her to embark on an international quest. The journey takes her through a wide range of unexpected and shocking emotional situations. The ensuing series of events makes her laugh and cry and forces her to take an even more serious and very introspective look at her life and the lives of those around her. While she is on this life-changing quest, she is also faced with some poignant issues of those of her closest friends, all which brings her world more into perspective. The story is strewn with friendship, humor, spirituality, "coincidences", forgiveness, empathy, understanding and love for self and one another. You know, basically all the stuff of life. In the end, Jessica fully accepts that the universe has a specific plan for her. She realizes that she must be true to herself and her spirit. She takes a leap of faith, embraces her passion and is well on her way to thriving and becoming genuinely happy in her life.
