Photography captures the poignant beauty of wind blown flags on the coastal campus of Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, while graphically reminding us of the tragic losses of that fatal day, 9 - 11. Flags are presented each year, each for a soul lost that day. The flag for each is the flag of their country. We are reminded by seeing the flags of other countries among the many flags of our country that the hurt inflicted was and remains far wider than our country only. Also presented is Heroes Garden. A quiet, yet elegant place in its setting on a high point of the Pepperdine campus. Heroes Garden commenorates the lost of 9-11 including the Pepperdine alumnus, Todd Burnett, Jr. Heroes Garden provides one opportunity for contemplation and solace while overiooking the Pepperdine campus and Malibu with an unbroken view out to, and over the nearby Pacific Ocean.
