Based on the character of a real dog, this is a whimsical story about an intelligent and lovable dog named Punkin, who cannot stand being separated from her owner, Mark. She runs away to find him after he leaves to search for work in another state. Punkin meets several people who quickly learn that she is on a mission and will not be stopped. She must learn how to find food and avoid the dog catcher, or anyone else who tries to grab her. Told through the eyes of Punkin, the reader gets a unique glimpse into her mind and how she reacts to life and her experiences on the run.
