In this workshop, ?Marking Time: Forming Spirituality through the Christian Year,? we explore the origins and meaning of the Christian year, and how it represents the profound yet simple remembrance and re-enactment of the life of Christ in real time during the calendar year. Beginning with an overview of the Bible's teaching in connection to time and history, we will examine the dominant view of the atonement, Christus Victor, which reigned in the ancient Church for a 1,000 years, and how this dynamic vision of Jesus' victory over sin and death was captured in the worship of the Church in the Church Year.
