GOD has indeed been gracious to me, in permitting me to awaken a deeper interest in African mission-work among my own people, chiefly in the Western States of America; so that I feel to-day I am doing more good for Africa than if I had been permitted to continue my labors there. I am indeed very thankful to the dear friends in Britain for their help and sympathy in the African cause, and would ask their further interest and assistance in promoting the sale of this little book, the proceeds of which, after defraying my own personal expenses, will be devoted to the mission.
