On his wedding day with Miss Saily, there is a theological disagreement between Mr. Fabrice and Miss Saily's mother, Mrs. Clara, who opposes him before the church for a heretic and must recant his theology before marrying her daughter. Miss Saily cannot withstand seeing her bride being tried on their wedding day for a heretic, and so she collapses, and sooner, Mr. Fabrice also collapses by his bride, and they are all taken to the Harlem central hospital, New York.
