American society bombards them daily with messages that they are not worthy simply because of physical attributes. This book is designed for the elementary aged child to present an historic perspective of the African American/Black experience in American Society. Only by knowing and understanding their history can our children appreciate what makes them similar to others and allow them to love what makes them so uniquely unlike everyone else.
