Publisher Marketing: The Second International Conference on Chinese Genealogy was successfully concluded at the International Academic Exchange Center of Nanjing Normal University on December 3-5, 2010. During the conference, Chinese and international scholars, experts and specialists on genealogy had a nice forum to exchange their knowledge and expertise. The Editorial Board did our best to provide cultural exchange opportunities to the attendees. We also took every opportunity to promote friendship and understanding amongst enthusiasts of Chinese culture/genealogy at the conference. Through the support and the efforts of participating friends and members of our Association, the proceedings of "The Second International Conference on Chinese Genealogy" is finally published for your perusal. Originally the proceedings were to be published in China, after much consideration we have decided to publish it in the US. Further we will make it available on the internet to maximize the impact and minimize the expenses. It is very important that the authors of each paper carefully review the drafts to ensure the accuracy and the integrity of the content. Genealogy is a very important aspect of Chinese culture. Chinese names are passed down from generations and hold the family history in perpetuity. We hope this first edition of our proceedings will contribute to the understanding Chinese Genealogy. Internationally, the science of genealogy have advanced much in recent years, we hope our friends aboard would share their knowledge with us and support us on this effort.
