When I first sat down to write this book six years ago, I didn?t have a clue what was going on in my heart and head, but I knew something was wrong. Somewhere between ?recess? and the jungle we call the ?9 to 5,? between cartoon superheroes and the world?s most treacherous ?bad guys,? between lifelong dreams of brighter tomorrows and the deep feelings of regret caused by so many disappointing yesterdays, between the corporate ladder we?ve climbed so successfully and the families we?ve left waiting at a ball game that we?ve missed?again, and somewhere between writing love notes in grade school and taking notes on laptops, smart phones, or tablets in endless company meetings, we?ve lost sight of who we were created to be. When we?ve lost the passion and enthusiasm for life that we experienced as a child, the belief that we could actually make a positive difference in the world as we walk in obedience to God?s Word, there are only a few reasonable choices we can make; we can either give in to despair, or we can press on, striving to rediscover our passion for life.
