How the mind, by predicting the future, gives rise to intelligence, ethics, and consciousness. Those who have claimed to be able to predict the future have been around since the dawn of human society. Do they have 'special abilities'? If we are talking about "spiritualists", perhaps not. But what about those who use modern tools such as computers; we may call them 'analysts' or 'under-writers' ... do they have special abilities? In either case, do their brains have any unusual capabilities that give them these special abilities? Is there a connection between prediction and the sources of consciousness? And where do morals and ethics come from, if they aren't all about trying to predict the future behavior of our social interactions?
