A Story from Twindom

Twindom is an imaginary community, where separated twins are reunited. Most twins find each other through the Twindom Web site. Some, however, driven by the circumstances of their existence, must travel through, and be rescued from, the Valley of Despair. Bill Davis arrives to reunite with Bob. He brings the Johnson diaries, unlocking the mystery of the Johnson twins. On their sixteenth birthday, they first share their conviction about slavery. Knowing they must keep their feelings secret, from their father, they communicate on this only in writing. In 1848, Jeremiah Johnson dies. The twins promptly free their hundred slaves, before transforming the plantation into a haven for escaping slaves. Following the Civil War, the plantation became a unique orphanage, where Black and White children grew up and were educated together. The 1940s brings extreme racists, who reconstruct the plantation into a slave state. Eventually, the authorities arrive to crash the party.
