Brief Description: INDn her book 7-14 Days D- Our Time is at Hand, Noah Waters relives theimmediate aftermath of the worst attack ever to hit this nation's shore from an incredible story of maritimeresponse. A spine tingling account that weaves actual events of the past into a haunting awareness of maritime security issues we face today. There were many pre- and post incidents surrounding the attacks on September 11,days before the plane hit the first tower the southern coastline was preparing for the arrival of Hurricane Gabrielle. Immediately after the attacks, the country was preparing for war against an unknown enemy as the storms surged along the West Coastal Waterway. The story focuses on three individual characters from totally different backgrounds giving the cause of defending the country all they have only to realize the inevitable truth that giving all you have got to a specific cause may not be enough!Noah Waters wrote 7-14 Days -Our Time is at Hand because she believes that the story of terror from the skiesis familiar to eworld yet little has ever been written about one of the most important specialized groups following the September attacks. Everyday Americans, which were strangers, were brought together, became friends, warriors and protectors of one the United States most important International gateways. It is vital that our country knows how these individuals were pulled together, to create for the first time in United States History, a team of maritime law enforcement to face the threat of terrorismBiographical Note: Noah Waters conducted law enforcement vessel boardings as one of only two female U. S. Sea Marshals in the San Francisco Bay, immediately after the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Towers. She mitigated threats to the port by boarding vessels at sea in support of federal, state, and local law enforcement on high-capacity passenger vessels (cruise ships), cargo carriers, and container ships entering one of the United States' most important gateways. Following her appointment as a U. S. Sea Marshal, she went on to work at the U. S. Coast guard headquarters in Washington, DC on the development of requirements for future port security measures and protocols for today's current maritime safety and security teams. From that position she transitioned to civilian employment with the Federal Bureau of Investigation where she contributed to the design and implementation of the name check data system currently being used by airports industries, border guards, the trucking industry, and background check companies.
