Publisher Marketing: The Midwest was being settled by hundreds of families making the long journey from the east coast with intentions of settling in the west. But, due to bad weather and sickness many had to stop and settle before reaching their destinations. Albert's parents made their trip a few years before Elizabeth's parents. Elizabeth's parents decided to stop for the night in a partially finished cabin built by Albert's father. Elizabeth was Albert's intended bride. He knew this from the first time he laid eyes on her. She was frail and small for her age. This made Albert want to protect her even more, from all the evils in the world. She would be his at any cost. He knew this because God spoke to him and said it was to be. How could he go against the word of God? Elizabeth had a mind of her own and would not be looked upon as some sort of "gift" given to a man who believed he was some sort of extension of God. Who did he think he was? Nothing she would or could say had any impact. He was going to make her his or make sure no one else could have her. She worried about where he was in his mind. Albert was a friend and that's all she wanted him to be. She would never be able to convince him of this. Nothing short of murder and destruction would keep him from making her his bride.
