Their mission: return to earth and fight fire with fire. If they succeed there is a small chance they may receive clemency and a free pass into Heaven. Charlie "Cup of Coffee" has died. Or did he? He must reinvent himself in the afterlife. Willie, his no-nonsense guardian angel informs him that he needs his help. Charlie has been chosen to lead the team of reformed criminals. Their mission is to assist others who are in trouble before it is too late. Whether they know it or not, they're all connected. Even gangsters can learn to control their impulses when given enough incentive. There are, of course, exceptions to the rule.
