WHAT'S KILLING THE RESIDENTS OF COVE LAKE? Is it man, or beast, or something far beyond anything they ever imagined in their darkest nightmares? Are things truly as they appear or is there something more sinister afoot? Could it be a wild animal lurking in the darkness of the night or could it possibly be, as some whisper, a vampire? COULD VAMPIRES EVEN EXIST? Could they be hidden deep in the mountains surrounding their quaint little village? If so, how can they be stopped? THE STORY... Officer Mike Brody turns in his badge at the Chicago Police Department, and moves back to his small hometown of Cove Lake, New York a quaint community nestled in the scenic Adirondack Mountains. Brody takes a position as the Sheriff of this quaint community, it was the perfect place to come back to. He quickly settles back into the small town routine. Things are peaceful and quiet, which is just the way he likes it, until Brody finds himself faced with a string of vicious killings that rock the small community to its core. Brody is called on to investigate the brutal slayings. Since the killings are attributed to animal attacks, he brings his friend Hound Dog Johnson, a popular local tracker and hunting guide in to help with the investigation. They will have to use all of the tricks of their trade and savvy detective work to catch the killer, not to mention having a little luck. Brody finds himself walking a tight rope, trying to find the killer before it strikes again but not wanting to stir up the community into an armed and panicked mob looking for vigilante justice. Meanwhile ... Sara and Jesse, a young couple, who have been best friends since childhood, have an opportunity to drive up from their homes in New York City for a little rest and relaxation. They find themselves quickly embroiled in both the local killings, as well as the investigation. It seems that they may be the only eye witnesses to survive.
