Mikey Patterson and Abby Fairchild are mentally disabled adults. After meeting and falling in love in a group home, Abby finds herself pregnant. Her cruel mother Victoria twists fate by making Abby believe that her baby died during child birth. She gives the baby to Mikey's parents to raise with one very cruel demand... Mikey is to be told that Abby didn't make it through the delivery. The story progresses as Mikey convinces his parents to let him live at home and live as a "normal" man. He wants to help raise his child, get a job and give her the happiest life he can provide. Fate has some more unexpected twists for Mikey and Abby and it all unfolds by chance.
