The peace and quiet of a small university in a heretofore quiet, idyllic village nestled in the hills of Western New England is suddenly disrupted by discovery of a murdered young woman on campus.. The campus security guard who discovers the initial victim assists a detective in solving the crime. The search for the murderer quickly narrows down to five people. The backstory of each character is examined and character flaws abound yet murder does not seem to emerge as a one of the flaws. Before the murder is solved, the initial victim's two roommates are also found murdered. Even though the mystery is finally resolved, the university has suffered nearly irreparable damage to its reputation and financial well-being.
