When we think about gemstones, we automatically think about the cut, color, clarity, carats or value of the stones ? all equally important. Gemstones are cut to display their interior. The cut gives gemstones a number of flat surfaces, or facets, which reveal the brilliance and sparkle of the gemstones. Even though all gemstones are composed of similar substances, their color, stories and backgrounds make them different. And the clarity and luster of the stones bring out their brilliance and transparency. The value of gemstones varies widely because they are not appreciated by everyone. The colors they have innocently shown because of their situations have not always been pretty. But their clarity and transparency make them who they are and cognizant of their value or worth. Gemstones are a lot like women. Even though their stories and struggles are different, their mission is the same: to embrace, become and love who they are. Gemstones have been cut by disrespect, sexuality, opposition, abandonment, envy, promiscuity, disabilities, trials and tribulations.
