Contributor Bio: Cox, Barbara "Barbara Cox" has written and taught in language education since 1972, when she developed curriculum materials and trained teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents for English as a Second Language (ESL) and bilingual education programs. In 1982, she coauthored "New Frontiers: A Bilingual Early Education Program," a comprehensive 69-volume program for use with young children that places all language learning squarely within the context of concept learning. Dr. Cox earned her Ph. D. from Stanford University in education and psychology. She also holds a bachelor's and master's degree in history from the University of California, Riverside. Dr. Cox continues to write and work in education, teaching adult courses in writing, communications, technology, marketing, and real estate. Contributor Bio: Forbes, Scott Scott Forbes, Professor of Biology at the University of Winnipeg, is a behavioral ecologist whose chief research interest is the evolutionary ecology of families. He has published articles in a wide variety of journals, including "Behavioral Ecology and Sociobiology, Ecology, Nature, American Naturalist," and "Trends in Ecology & Evolution."
