This is a novel written by a Psychiatrist. It is a book focusing on the invisible injury of Post Traumatic Stress disorder. It is not an academic work but takes the readers through the anguish and suffering of PTSD in various walks of life set against the backdrop of a national catastrophe, Hurricane Katrina. The story unravels in Louisiana in 2005 after the devastation of the hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Though this novel is work of fiction, the author had firsthand experience as a first responder behavioral health provider in Louisiana. He volunteered in Acadiana providing much needed behavioral health services in 2005. The novel's protagonist is Dr Jill Perkins who is a young, bright psychiatrist. She leads a team to the ravished areas. She herself had begun to suffer from PTSD. The story, experienced by Acadians and outsiders alike ,gathers speed to a tragic end?.
