A simple story of one mother's grief turned into a message for the world that our loved ones are communicating with us even after they die. It is written from a sibling perspective. Some of the pictures are real and some were improvised to fit the story. Charlie is the story! The events in the second half of the book are communications. It is my hope that the pictures will tell the story as well as the words. I hope readers will begin to think about how the lost loved ones in their own life may try to communicate with them. Our loved ones are constantly communicating with us from the other side. I hope that people will begin a conversation about the way that the loss has brought them gifts and begin to move on. As the healing begins from the death of a loved one I hope this picture book will get parents and children talking. It maybe something that you have to come back to over and over to experience feelings and memories of your loved ones. It may even be for adults who have blocked their feeling of joy and are only in the feeling of grief. It is a simple relatable journey to begin healing. It is a project I completed for my own healing. Charlie died of cancer in 2006 but he was 21 at the time. I chose to use pictures of his years of life between 4-7. These are sweet images that bring back fond memories. I hope you enjoy the story and the pictures that I have shared with you. And thank you for going on this journey with me.
