Publisher Marketing: Global warming will upset many lives but perhaps none more so than the life of a jolly old elf who has been running a toy manufacturing and distributing firm located at the North Pole. Forced into retirement by a warming world, Nicholas Jolly and his wife end up in Bide-A-While trailer park while he starts a new career working for the EvolCOOLtion Corporation. His first corporate presentation is at Laurel Hills High School where Nix and her sisters are assigned a job practicum at his TastyTec Frozen Delites store. Secretly, however, Jolly desires to escape the heat of a warming world to return to Greenland, which is only one hour reindeer flight time from the North Pole. There are a number of problems with this plan: the Arctic Ocean has melted and he has lost both his elves and reindeer. Nix and her sisters discover the reindeer working as pit ponies in the caves below EvolCOOLtion. The elves are down there too, but now they've become unionized as ELFs (Electro-mechanical Linemen Federation). Can the reindeer be saved? Are the ELFs interested in returning to toy production? How does one land a sleigh on an open ocean? Where is the sleigh, by the way? Did it sink below the waves or was it saved by the Coast Guard?
