Contributor Bio: Bochman, Sabrina Sabrina Bochman was born in Eugene, Oregon to parents who were attending a Bible College there at the time. After several moves, her family settled in Iowa for about 7 years, where her parents sponsored 12 Thai Dom and Laotian refugees, who lived with Sabrina's family for about a year. Sabrina's parents helped them, along with many other Southeastern Asian families in the area, learn English, get their green cards, get jobs, learn to drive, and get cars and houses of their own. When Sabrina was 12, her family moved to South Dakota, where 3 more children were added to the family, for a total of 7 children. In South Dakota, they lived in an old house previously owned by Sabrina's great-grandfather, without electricity for 5 years, and without running water. Upon turning 18, Sabrina went to Papua New Guinea, where she spent almost a year with her missionary aunt and uncle, learning what it's like to be a missionary. Returning to the States, she studied at Eugene Bible College (the same college her parents and aunt and uncle had attended)for six years, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Studies with a youth minor and a Bachelor of Sacred Music. She wrote her first book, My Adventures in Papua New Guinea, around the year 2000, as Sabrina Buffington. After writing two more non-fiction books, she tried her hand at fiction in 2010 with a book called Seedah, and found that she absolutely loved writing fiction. Three more fiction books followed in 2011, ShandraLa, Benielyon and Eloah, and Shiloh. In 2012, she wrote another fiction book, based on a true story, called To Heal the Broken-Hearted. Sabrina also writes and records her own music. Her latest CD, He is My Happy Place, can also be found on amazon.com, along with 2 other CDs of her music, With You and To Heal the Broken-Hearted. Sabrina currently resides in South Dakota with her husband Cory, and has two children, ages 17 and 15.
