The Lean-To-Boys of Bigfork, Minnesota is a collection of true stories chronicling a group of deer hunters, their hunting and successes and the camp they established in 1952, and the area they still use in Bigfork Township, Itasca County, Minnesota. The stories are for everyone who enjoy the outdoors, camping, hunting and/or fishing. They will bring back memories of similar activities you once participated in; or ones you might like to be a part of in the future. How the love of hunting and camping is shared and passed on from one person to another or from one generation to the next is found in the writings. Also highlighted is how the author handled the problem when his twin daughters were old enough to be included in the hunting fraternity. The stories found in each chapter are presented in a light and enjoyable fashion. A wide range of topics are included in the various chapters. Topics such as the the building of a Swamp Buggy, an elk hunt, first time hunting ups and downs, being new in camp, equal involvement for women hunters, there are some bear hunting stories and even some good deer hunting stories. The author used an approach, for the chapters written by others, one where he introduces the other person and the topic found in that chapter. It is the authors hope that you will find it as fun, entertaining and educational as he did as he was writing and accumulating the hunting and related stories used in the book.
