This story begins when my 85-year-old mother asks me to take her out of her nursing home, and I do, against the advice of the doctor. Her dementia was severe. Someone had to be with her 24 hours a day. During the month that I had her at home, her ravaged mind somehow allowed her spirit to reveal and deal with problems that had plagued her all her life and that everyone thought were just a negative part of her otherwise delightful personality?but turned out to be caused by actual demons.
