Publisher Marketing: The A-Maze-ing Peppermint story places the handsome retired race horse in scary situations he never dream he would experience. When he lived on the O'Malley's farm where he was born, he was happy, for he won every race they they entered him. Shortly after they retired him while he was still young and healthy, he ran away from their lovely farm and pasture they had created for him. He ran away because he was bored and missed the exciting life he experienced while racing and becoming famous. During his travels after running away, he made many friends. One of his friends is Hootie the owl. The two of them met and lived on a hidden mountain farm no one knew existed. His other new friends were retired circus people and animals. After living with them awhile, he decided to visit the friends he left behind at the O'Malley's farm. Before he could open the gate to his private pasture, he heard Hootie the owl calling his name. When he reached Peppermint, he was almost out of breath. He told Peppermint he had to return to the hidden mountain to save his retired circus friends and amimals from a terrible danger. The biggest problem he faced was time. If he did not rescue them before sunset all would be lost. On his way to save them he encountered several strangers in danger. If he stopped to save them, he would lose a lot of time, but both were in danger. Young readers find themselves either pulling for Peppermint to save the strangers in his paths or his friends on the hidden mountain. It appears he would be unable to save both. They are given an opportunity to help Peppermint by following the paths in the mazes. Contributor Bio:  Carson, Winta The author, Winta Carson, is a retired university professor.
