As a gifted but untested girl of but 15 years, she is thrown into a crisis with the death of her mother, the good Queen Beldonia and the paralysis of her father, the noble King Salasand. Her idyllic kingdom of a sudden is beset by refugees from a world not unlike our own where war, intolerance, and environmental disasters propel them to seek refuge in Chrysallia's land of peace and promise. In their headlong flight to sanctuary they tragically bring the conflicts of their past into this new universe of harmony and hope. Chrysallia must undergo a quest to confront the evil rulers responsible for these dark energies or risk losing her beloved kingdom. To do so she must not use violence or she risks becoming the thing she is seeking to transform. Motivated by the dictum above her father's throne that ''The Most Dangerous Dragons are the Ones That Lie Within, '' Chrysallia must conquer herself first before she accomplishes her task. Her rite of passage into a foreboding forest prepares her spiritually through a powerful dream to the task before her. The result of her journey is a divine revelation of the changes that must take place in our own world or we face the same destruction threatening the rulers of hers. Armed with a sacred flower emanating all the colors of the prism but united by a single stem, Chrysallia has found the metaphor to bring us together for a future free from conflict and division. In this she lives up to her name ''The Princess of Possibility.''
