World of Rage: a Story in the Near Future Len King

Publisher Marketing: A story of a serious environmental issue that plagues the world in the near future. Told with a touch of tongue in cheek, an awkward hero and a beautiful 'super' lady take you through an era of troubles for humankind. But the intrepid duo kick the heck out of the bad guys and prevail to the end. The story begins with Ben, a Zone Warden, meeting the heroin, Jackie, in one of the deserted Zones. After falling in love they are embroiled in a struggle between a Senator responsible for laws encouraging toxic strip commercial land and a major strip commercial owner. This entanglement puts them on the wrong side of the law as well as the owner. Eventually events come to a head at a conference intended as a first step toward quelling animosity between the segregated 'Garden' and Precinct' residents. A tense ending provides a first step toward the next future. Characters include other good guys, good guys turned bad guys turned sad guys, as well as a really nasty guy. Topics range from segregated land planning, pros and cons of some present land development law, to possible social de-evolution caused by extreme laissez faire policy. Realistic and feasible near future technology is presented as well as some depth beyond (or behind) the adventure itself. The book should appeal to both the adventure reader and those wanting more meat. The story was created by an architect and urban planner who has intimate knowledge of suburban 'strip commercial' development and less than favorable opinions of their value to society and our health. See a possible result for our future. Contributor Bio:  King, Len Len King is a licensed architect and residential builder with over 40 years of experience. After gaining a Bachelors degree in Architecture and a Masters in Urban Design he practiced in New York City and western North Carolina. He has designed and built numerous homes ranging from traditional to the very progressive. His comprehensive background has provided a unique perspective on what design is and what the young beginning designers need to be prepared for. Likewise he acknowledged that 'on the job training' was a viable alternative to lengthy and often expensive education. As such the question was asked what does this person need to get going, be effective and grow into the expert the industry needs? Simultaneously teaching at local colleges where many of the students were adults interested in learning what was needed to 'design their own home' Len had the idea for this book. He hopes that his experience and insights will be discovered and useful and improve what is presently a very hit and miss industry design quality wise. Last and not least is his message of "look first at your land" before you design a house and stay GREEN.
