Through thoughtful and shared reflection on our personal study abroad journeys, our goal in writing this book is to prepare other students for the transformation that occurs before,during, and after study abroad experience. We wish to introduce readers to the vast array of personal and cultural knowledge we gained through sharing our personal stories and deepened by our academic research. Our mission is to foster deeper understanding, academically, socially, and individually and therefore, limit the challenges faced by future generations of student-travelers. Proceeds from this book will go to a needs-based study abroad scholarship at Elon University.
