Carthage was often referred to as "The Crossroads of America." US 71 (north-south), the original route of "The Jefferson Highway" and the famous Route 66 (east-west), "The Mother Road", intersected at Central & Garrison in Carthage, Missouri Many travelers passed through our wonderful city. Carl Taylor, well-known local photographer, took tens of thousands of photographs from 1955 to the mid 1970s. Mr. Taylor captured the people, events and buildings of the day. Many are gone now and only left to our memories. Re-live memories or make new ones as you see how life was in "the good ol' days." Do you remember KDMO and Lee Crocker's live broadcasts from Boot's Drive-In? His show was called "Breakfast at the Crossroads." This first volume covers 1955-1959. Volume two will cover the years 1960-1975.
