Preparing students for success in the workplace is an important part of education. Some might argue that it is the overall purpose of education. And yet, career planning as a specific program of study does not exist in every school or district. Or, if present, appears a little late in the student's life. Get a Job! argues the case for introducing career planning education in the classroom, but introducing it much sooner. Some readers may feel that Middle School is too soon to burden young people with the worries of searching for a job, loans, or debt. But in the end, Get a Job! may even be aiming too high.
