On the Beach at Turtle Bay is primarily the story of Bob Downing, a Union activist and parcel carrier. The reader will follow Bob, who thinks he?s making a smart career choice by becoming a full-time officer in the National Association of Parcel Carriers. Bob instead becomes tangled in the wrongdoings of Nickolas James, Local Branch President. Bob?s journey takes him down a path of sex, bribery and confrontations with Nick?s more shady friends, culminating at the Turtle Bay Resort on the island of Oahu at a Parcel Carriers? convention. Along with Bob, we also follow other parcel carriers winding through their relationships with passion, romance and heartbreak: Nickolas James, whose indiscretions ultimately lead to the downfall of himself and others? Audrey Nance, a parcel carrier from a rural community whose small-town innocence causes her to suffer a great deal of heartbreak. David, the aspiring writer, whose long-time crush on Faith is ultimately shattered by Bob. Cami, a co-worker of David and Faith: Her close relationship with Nick is always in question. Amanda and Matthew, long-time members whose concern with Nick?s illicit activities spark the interest of parties outside the branch Darcy, a promiscuous part-time officer who will do anything to secure a merger with another branch. Eddie, a Vietnam vet, brings humor with his schoolboy antics Di, Bob?s wife, who struggles with her addictions and reliance on Bob On the Beach at Turtle Bay is a full and vibrant story that contrasts the stark realities of illicit business dealings with the romance and beauty of paradise.
