This book examines the exploitative situation of female domestic workers in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This study discovers the unfair condition of female domestic workers which place them into higher exploitation in the informal labour market. Domestic workers have, too often, been portrayed as one dimensional victim-a group of powerless women vainly struggling for justice in Bangladeshi society. This research explores how the intersection of gender with class, culture, sex, shapes different experiences for different categories women as employer and employee in domestic service. The research critically asses how the domestic work create an employment sector for poor women of Bangladesh with high level of injustice, insecurity and exploitation. Here this research explores that gender is not the only factor of discrimination against domestic workers. Class and poverty becomes a vital factor in this context. This book unveils how in one hand, the intersectional experience produces authority for upper class women, on the other hand produces domination for the lower class women with in the household of Bangladesh.
