A Matter Of Survival elicits the story of two sisters, a Brownie, who is only seven, and a three year old, who survive a family accident on an early autumn Saturday morning. This occurs at a state park, which leaves the girls to fend for themselves for a day and a half before the accident is even discovered. There are many obstacles the girls must overcome beginning with the direction they must travel in an effort to find help for their parents.
