The Fairy Zelphia Tammy Sickles Stewart
The Fairy Zelphia
Tammy Sickles Stewart
This story is a modern fairytale, of sorts, that takes a direction you might not expect. As two young fairies are lounging in the sun, a young mortal boy happens upon them. Zelphia?s brass curiosity of the mortal boy gets her captured. The story is not only her journey to escape entrapment and return home, but also is the story of how both the boy and his sister care for the creature while she is trapped. Despite being about a fairy, I believe that this book has mass appeal because it isn?t the traditional fairy story. It highlights the differences between the general personalities of boys and girls and the way they handle things. It is a short story written for young children.
