Pappa Joe's Cups
Cora Olivas
Currently residing in Tucson AZ, Cora says it was her Kentucky roots and her "never say die" Daddy, Gerald, that made her the person who would write her own children's sotry when she could not find one to her 'liking' in the bookstores and libraries of her hometown. Thirty plus years later, that homespun children's story is as timely today as it was then. Although prodded by her children for many years to publish "their" book, it was the headlines of the current days that prompted a desire to share a story that could change attitudes and hearts across a nation that has battled too long for its right to love one another; regardless of race. Strong in her belief that there is "absolutely no room for racism in the Body of Christ," Cora believes children can correct what their elders failed to abolish. "Our children are out future and they deserve the opportunity to do things better than we did," Cora says. "To do so, they must be allowed the truth. Children learn fear, prejudice, and hate around every corner of our world. As guardians of this next generation, we can ensure they are also exposed to the better way... The Jesus way. In so doing, we have a hope and a better future."
