Another holiday season was quickly approaching on the ranches and plans had to be made. The women did most of the planning and the men just had to do as they were told. The families were excited to spend their first Christmas in their new homes and wanted everything to be perfect. On Christmas morning Barbara made the announcement that she and Luke were going to have another baby, and everyone was pleased and excited for them. Wade and Dan made the decision to move to Kansas City, allegedly to continue their education at one of the universities, but things didn?t go as well as they had planned. Luke became concerned when he hadn?t heard from them for a while and decided that he would take Bob and Todd with him to go check on the boys in Kansas City. Bob and Todd brought a very special gift home with them for Lisa when they returned from Kansas City. Arthur Miles? brother Phillip sent a letter to Arthur and said that he would like to visit him on his new ranch. He said that Arthur had painted such a beautiful picture of the life, the land, and the people, that he wanted to see for himself. When the time arrived for her baby to be born, the family was as excited as Luke and Barbara, but there were complications that the family had to deal with first.
