In CRY BLOODY MURDER, author Martin Karlin takes the reader through a hectic spy mystery. Matt and Nancy Wolpat are vacationing in Paris when Matt inadvertently is drawn into an espionage plot involving not only the local police and French Intelligence, but also the United States' authorities. Weiskopf of the FBI is as determined as Franks of French Intelligence to bring about a resolution advantageous to his career and country. The action begins immediately and quickly captivates the reader's imagination and emotions. Karlin is a master of descriptive writing, and I could easily visualize each character and location in the novel. In addition to the action scenes, personal relationships were also well developed. The book flows well and kept me in suspense throughout. It was difficult to put the book down, as each chapter left me wanting more. I would love to see a movie version!
