It is necessary for the Reader to observe that, if on trial, the answer does not correspond with the known part of his fate, (and particularly the disposition and bodily marks. He may be sure that some mistake has been made by him in the process, or else in the want of mental energy, and belief in the mysterious practice to which he has resorted. This being the case, (which sometimes will necessarily happen,) let him, if during the Summer Season, wait during the full space of an hour and a half, and if during the Winter Season, one hour, before he again makes his divining points. The Editor has also discovered from repeated trials, among his friends, that it would be better for each person to make three trials, (after the proper time has intervened), and if two, out of the three trials, produce similar figures, let him choose that particular figure, which comes twice the same, for his Horoscope. But if all three are different, let him choose that which most corresponds with his own ideas, and bodily marks or moles, as described in the Work. The Editor scarcely need make any remark, to impress upon the mind of his Readers, the necessity of being serious in their trials, and with a full desire to attain a correct answer, as they will find from experience, that, the hidden mysteries of nature, are only to be obtained, by an earnest and serious desire to come at the truth. But, if triflers try them, they try, only, to be trifled with.
