Jasmine was born an only child. Ruth, her mum had a difficult pregnancy and while giving birth to her the doctors told her that she couldn't have another child because her uterus was weak. Her husband Gordon, despite the situation pretended to accept the verdict but deep inside he wanted a boy child to inherit his vast wealth. This led him to infidelity in search of a boy child. Audrey came looking for a job in his company and instead, he offered to shower her with money, buy her a car and rent her a house as long as she gets pregnant for him. Audrey being ambitious and materialistic accepts the offer. Ruth on the other hand decided to seek medical attention secretly to surprise her husband and daughter by getting pregnant again. One day she gets an anonymous call telling her about her husband's trips abroad with another lady. She shares the bad news with her secretary Betty and together they find out the truth. Paul the company driver is the one who spilled the beans. The three do their best to stop Gordon from losing his family. Ruth finally gets pregnant and gives her husband the good news. Gordon in turn asks Paul to help him get rid of his mistress, Audrey, because Ruth is expecting his child. Paul and Betty, advices Ruth to confront Gordon with what she knows. This happens after Betty gets a house next to Audrey and records her conversation between them about her relationship with "a rich stupid fool" and also realizes that Audrey has a younger lover. She is only after his money and material things to support herself and the boyfriend. After Ruth tables all the evidence to Gordon, he finally accepts his mistake and apologizes to her. Together they hatch a plan to get rid of Audrey is the most decent but painful way. Everything works out for the best and eventually, after another difficult and delicate pregnancy, Ruth gives birth to a bouncing baby boy, and the family gets back on track.
