After meeting her first husband Reginald Collier at a young age she was catapulted into a life full of ventures ranging from mining for diamonds of the west coast of Africa, running hotels in Durban, South Africa, ship cleaning businesses in Kenya and many, many more. Along the way much joy, excitement and happiness filled Glenys' life however tragedy became a companion of hers and seemed to raise its head in her life as only can in the wild African lifestyle.
