Whenever I pick up the Bible, though, I get a different perspective. I am reminded that no matter how chaotic everything is getting, I worship and serve a living God who has promised to return and set things right. The apostle Paul wrote that when Adam sinned, the entire universe was plunged into death and darkness. He also wrote that we have a Savior, a "blessed hope," who will bring salvation and perfect justice to His creation. I don't pretend to know exactly when that will happen, but I'm positive that it will be much sooner than most of us think. Whatever you do, don't lose sight of that hope. It doesn't take a Christian to understand that something is different about this present hour, but only those saved by the blood of Jesus know why we should be excited. It just may be that you and I have been handpicked by our great God to be alive when He sends His dear Son back to carry His children home to heaven. In Romans 13:11-12, we read these words: ..". It is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light." People often say that there's no way we can know the ultimate fate of the universe or when "the end" shall come. I say that God went to great lengths to give and preserve His Word, and that Word provides us with many insights into both how and when He will put an end to this age. The purpose of this book is to provide a systematic layout of God's plan for the future as revealed in the Scriptures.
