There is trouble brewing in the Sawatch Mountain range, deep in the Rockies. Droughts, accidents, thefts, vandalism, and a modern day cattle rustling ring threaten to destroy the ranchers who make these mountains their home; and now they are starting to turn on each other. James Forsten, a retired Recon Marine, stumbles right into the middle of it all when he finds a gorgeous young woman covered in blood, near death, in one of the most remote mountain wilderness areas in the west. Now he must decide: does he get involved, and risk his hidden past catching up with him, or will he continue hiding, waiting for the inevitable death that stalks him?
