For three years, I sat in the back seat with several different married couples going to all manner of events, hanging out in general and going on ministry trips. Relationships develop rapidly when you spend all of your free time with the same folks. You get so close that often things you would never allow the world to see, you allow people who are ingrained in your world to witness. In other words, I sat on the back seat so often people forgot I was back there. It was watching these interactions from the back seat that I learned how I should and should not handle certain issues in marriage.
