The Solbergs, a hard working family with a part time bear hunting guide service, get caught in the center of this natural storm. It forever changes the way they look at life in the boreal forest of the Minnesota Arrowhead region, where the border between civilization and the wilderness is blurred. They look for help from Errol McBain, a professional problem bear hunter from Alaska. Still driven by his failure to save his own wife from a bear attack twenty-five years ago, McBain is sometimes as frightening as the bear he is stalking and is, himself, frightened by his experience of a true family challenging him to start living again, or die.
