THE NAIL, is a hard boiled fantasy detective novel in the vein of such classics as Charles Bukowski's PULP, and Raymond Chandler's THE BIG SLEEP, with a new age hipster voice and a touch of the occult. Tommy Declan doesn't know a thing about being a detective. He's a barista at a coffee shop in the Lakewood Village of Cormmick NY. But when girls from the village started turning up dead, he found himself involved. Solving the case...sort of, Tommy now finds himself being called on again by Sheila Tetzloff, an enigmatic, and perhaps dangerous ally. Three ancient artifacts have gone missing along with a pair of young girls. Something is different about Tommy this time around, but his bad habits and bad luck remain. He's getting paid this time and maybe with more than just money. The weirdness continues in the second Nail Novel.
