Water, Water Everywhere: the History of the Miami Valley Flood of 1913 Curt Dalton

Days after the flood, the citizens and businesses of Dayton took on the task of raising $2 million dollars for the best engineers to design a plan to prevent future floods. After the construction of five dams and 55 miles of levee and the creation of the Miami Conservancy, the city has benefited ever since from that generation's generosity.
