While the two of them dance about each other in a game of wits around the country, the government plots behind the backs of its people and the entire world to use the benevolent inventions of Professor Vincent D. Johnson as a weapon of war, in an effort to intimidate those that would seek their demise. But the brilliant professor manages to catch on, and with what clues he finds and pieces together he comes to only one conclusion, and risks everything to enlist the aid of the one person capable of stopping their plans: Jason Thomas. The professor sends Captain Fox to find and reclaim his inventions from the government's hands, and in doing so sets them on a course that forever changes their lives and the lives of all those around them, hoping against hope that their efforts will restore a dying nation in its darkest hours.
