Arik Austin is the best pilot in the fleet, but he's young and yearns for a challenge. To break the boredom, he volunteers for a dangerous reconnaissance mission to observe a nearby black hole. During the mission, Arik's prototype spaceship malfunctions and sends him directly into the endless void where he is mysteriously reunited with his sister. The only problem is... she's been dead for ten years! She reveals to him her mystical powers and hands him a single red rose as a symbol of his own ensuing Journey of Understanding. The rose guides him to a beautiful, mysterious woman; a woman he's never met but a woman he's known his whole life. Arik is thrust into an interstellar war which will ultimately determine the fate of Earth. He becomes a leading force in the battle, but along the way must learn the ways of the Mystic and he must learn how to open his heart and mind before it's too late to save Earth and himself.
